Choice: It's What's For Breakfast

You know what’s been turning me on a lot lately?

Making different choices. Letting go of old patterns. Embodying new energies. Adding things to my life.

Over the past month, I’ve...

  • Booked a trip to Paris in the spring of 2019 (I finally said no more waiting! Time to turn my dream of going into a reality!)
  • Started learning French (So far I’ve been learning through Duolingo yet today I have my first lesson with an actual tutor!)
  • Been published in an online journal three times (Combined, all the pieces have received over 13K views so far.)
  • Turned a moment of triggered mess into published success
  • Watched familiar family drama unfold and chose not to engage
  • Joined the gym (I even choose to work out on the stairmaster even though it’s my least fav cardio machine!)
  • Purchased some silky pajamas :)
  • Been participating in not just one, but two, online programs; one that’s devoted to the exploration of my sexuality and turn on and another that’s about...

My vegan Thanksgiving + failed pumpkin pie

In my late 20’s I decided to become a vegan. I’d already been a vegetarian for a few years so it wasn’t a huge stretch... for me.

But try visiting family for the Thanksgiving holiday when your dad and brother are hunters and pride themselves on having shot the bird that’s put on display for the big turkey dinner.

“What d’ya mean you’re not going to eat any turkey?”

“You’ll eat the mashed potatoes, right? There's just milk and butter in them. That doesn’t count.”

In a good-hearted attempt to share with them the joys of veganism, I made a pumpkin pie for dessert. Only it wasn’t just any kind of vegan pumpkin pie: it was a TOFU pumpkin pie. (I don’t know what I was thinking!)

... I followed a recipe.

... Made sure I was the only one in the kitchen while I made it. (I didn’t want them to know it was tofu until after they fell in love with it.)

... And then wondered why, even after an hour in...

All You Desire? It’s on the Other Side of this… (The “R” Word)

I’ve been discovering a ton about “resistance” lately, about its many different disguises and how it shows up right when I’m on the edge of another evolutionary leap.

Like last week it showed up as heaviness and grumpiness.

It’s also shown up as tightening my grip on the wheel, wanting to feel more in control as I feel more out of control with the changes I’m choosing.

And then (thank heavens for awareness)... I catch myself and SEE the RESISTANCE for what it is: the bouncers at the edge of my comfort zone.

“You sure you want to go beyond this familiar territory? We don’t think you want to do that. No. We’re going to remind you of how scary it is out there, in the unknown. It’s way better to stay in here where we can be in charge, and keep you tame and limited.”

Living with resistance is like driving with one foot on the gas and one foot on the brake. YOU NEVER GET WHERE YOU DESIRE TO GO!...

|Part 1| Attracting More Clients (The Energetics)

It’s a seductive downward spiral to focus on what we’re against and what we don’t want. So instead, I encourage you to tap into the energies of what you’re a stand FOR.

WHAT ARE YOU A STAND FOR -- FOR YOUR IDEAL CLIENTS?

I’m a stand for women knowing their value, sharing their gifts and using their voice to catalyze change.

What about you?

Take a moment to tap in and tune into this… the ENERGY of what you know is possible for your ideal clients… and your PASSION for showing them how to create this in their life, business, career, relationships, body and beyond.

BREATHE into this and EXHALE this into the world.

As you tap into the energy of all that you are a stand for, for your ideal clients, you begin to broadcast this energy into the world… you BE the invitation you’re offering to them through your services and programs.

Turn up the energetic radio volume on your energy and passion and see for yourself how this...

|Part 2| Attracting More Clients (The pragmatics + Marie Forleo)

In case you missed Part 1 of my series re. attracting more clients, no worries. Let me sum it up for you:

When you turn up the energetic radio volume on your energy and passion for what you’re a stand for, for your ideal clients, you attract more clients.

BAM.

HOWEVER… if you JUST focus on the energetics you miss out on so many opportunities for serving more clients and making more money.

(It’s like the “OM Method” of getting clients - you sit on your couch all day, ommmmm-ing, waiting for your ideal clients to knock on your door and wondering why more aren’t showing up!)

That’s why you gotta partner your ENERGETICS with the PRAGMATICS to attract more clients. Specifically, I’m talking about the WORDS YOU USE to describe what you do. They’re super important!

Check out what Marie Forleo has to say about the power of our words as entrepreneurs:

“I've spent years watching brilliant entrepreneurs start and grow their...

|Part 3| Attracting More Clients (The pragmatics + Clint Eastwood)

If you’re just tuning into this series, let me sum it up for you quick-like:

Part 1: The Energetics: You being the ENERGY of the INVITATION to your ideal clients is magnetic!

Part 2: The Pragmatics: Partnering the ENERGY with the WORDS that connect with your ideal clients is KEY to your success as an entrepreneur.

In Part 3 I answer the question: what words do you use to connect with your ideal clients?

You can use words that inspire and empower, yes. And while that may feel good to you and your ideal clients, those same words may not move your ideal clients to take ACTION.

As an entrepreneur, you’re looking to do more than inspire: your business success depends on your ability to use words to sell your services and programs. (This is COPYWRITING.)

One of the big mistakes I see entrepreneurs making is they use words that sound good to THEM in their sales pages and websites. Examples:

  • The nutritionist who talks about balancing hormones and estrogen levels.
  • The...

|Part 4| Attracting More Clients (Sales Pages + Free PDF)

In case you missed Part 3 of this series on how to attract more clients, Clint Eastwood made an appearance! (Say what?!)

Sexy Clint, who played the photographer in the movie, “Bridges of Madison County,” served to remind you that you’ve got to BRIDGE the gap between you and your ideal clients by SPEAKING THEIR LANGUAGE. I call this Client Speak.

When you use the words in your marketing that your ideal clients use to describe their challenges and desires, they see that you GET them and can HELP them get what they’re looking for. (This is ESSENTIAL to attracting more clients!)

You know what else bridges the gap between you and your ideal clients?

SALES PAGES.

Sales pages are one of the best ways to let your ideal clients know you can serve them! People are on the internet, RIGHT NOW, seeking the kind of support you offer. Can they find you?

Have you built bridges to connect your services to their searches?

There are too many gifted coaches and...

4 Questions To Inspire More Yeses From Your Ideal Clients

What questions run through your ideal clients’ minds and hearts as they read your website and sales page?

What do they need to know (and feel) in order to say, “YES” to you?

If you don’t know what these questions are, or how to answer them, you will continue to lose potential clients. Once you know what these questions are (and how to answer them) you’ll have a step-by-step repeatable system to use to ensure all your marketing materials are set up to inspire more of your ideal clients to say, “YES” to working with you.

Question 1. Do You Get Me?

Your ideal clients need to know that you understand what they are going through. This is how they know you get them. If they don’t feel like you get them, they’ll click away to another site.

If you try to speak to everyone, your marketing materials end up vague and broad and do not work. Instead, know your audience.

  • Are they mompreneurs,...

How To Capture Clients’ Raving Reviews

Do you collect testimonials from your clients?

A lot of entrepreneurs make the mistake of not collecting them or they don’t know how to capture engaging and captivating testimonials.

Raving Reviews (aka Testimonials) are GOLD – they are a very valuable (and often overlooked) aspect of your marketing materials.

Why are Testimonials GOLD?

2 Big Reasons:

  1. They serve as ‘social proof’ that working with you is a wise investment/great idea/life-changing experience.
  1. They paint a picture of what is possible for someone else going through a similar situation (business challenges, relationship issues, etc.). This picture creates a story that your ideal clients can put themselves into. (“If they can do it, I can too!”)

Testimonials – when done well – become stories that have the power to inspire, empower and sell.

I really enjoy requesting testimonials from my clients. To make it super easy for them I...

Shall I Flirt or Be Direct? Tips for Writing Subject Lines

Shall I flirt or be direct?

It’s a great question to ask…

in copywriting and dating!

Let’s talk about this when it comes to copywriting, and more specifically, with your headlines.

Boring headlines lead to nobody reading your message. As a result, you don’t get clients.

Captivating headlines draw your clients in and make them want to keep reading (and when they keep reading, you have a chance to inspire them to say YES to you).

Here are 3 types of headlines you can use to captivate more of your ideal clients:

1. Direct: say it like it is

– Examples: “Free Call This Wednesday” & “1 Day till Your Scholarship Ends” & “Save 25% on Flu Shots”

2. Flirt: use the art of seduction; give them a little taste and perk their interest to know more (sometimes it’s ok to be a tease!)

– Examples: “Wanna get naked with me?” (for an email where a biz coach...
